Awakening from your illusion
The most conducive way to start awakening to reality is to ground yourself in presence and the present moment. This begins the dis-identification with the ego and the small self which is crucial to break the unhealthy mental programing we've all been exposed to since birth. Breaking this life-long, habitual programing takes serious commitment and hard work, but the freedom, peace and happiness that follows, is beyond description! The Big Lie:
Ego = Deception = Suffering
The ego's job is to convince us the we are "Lacking" in some way, and "Separate" from others, this is "The Big Lie." This deception can cause us to feel not good enough, worthy, deserving or capable.
"Awakening from the illusion of the small, ego self" refers to a transformative shift in consciousness, where an individual transcends the limitations of their ego-centric perspective and realizes their true nature.
"You are not broken, you are merely confused"
The ego, or small self, is a mental construct that creates a sense of separation and individuality. It's a necessary aspect of human development, but it can become limiting when it dominates our perception. The ego's primary function is to protect and promote itself, often leading to:
1. Separation: Feeling disconnected from others, nature, and the universe.
2. Fear and anxiety: Constantly seeking security and control.
3. Judgment and comparison: Evaluating oneself and others based on external standards.
4. Limiting beliefs: Holding onto restrictive thoughts and emotions.
